What does your Symbol look like?
When someone creates their own symbol, a few important things happen:
1. Faith becomes personal
Instead of just hearing teaching, the person has to reflect on what salvation means to them. The symbol becomes a visual testimony of their understanding of God’s grace and protection.
2. It reinforces the idea of a journey
Your first symbol with the road leading to the cross expresses this perfectly. Salvation is not just a moment—it is a lifelong walk with Christ.
This echoes scriptures like:
The path imagery makes that truth very clear.
3. Symbols help memory and reflection
In many ministry settings—especially where people are going through difficult seasons—visual symbols stick in the heart longer than lectures.
Someone might look at their symbol and remember:
4. It gives ownership of faith
Instead of feeling like faith is something given to them, they begin to feel like it is something they are walking out themselves.
That is exactly what discipleship is meant to do.
I used the same symbol as Darryl; its simplistic nature called to
me. “S” for salvation ad I see it inside the circle much like a
target. It is what I am aiming for.
