Benny…and His Big Idea’s – by S. Fischer

The first book, Benny…and His Big Ideas started out as a joke between friends. My friend Ben and I worked at a textile shop. I was a mechanic, and he worked in the tool room. Ben had a very large belly and occasionally I would (lovingly) razz him about it. I’d say, “hey, what are you doing out of your tank?” of “how does a Narwhal even get into a tool room? Luckily, you breathe air with your blow hole!” Over time, the story developed and the thought that I could make it into a book would not leave my mind. It started getting bothersome, so one day I prayed about it then I stepped out in faith and the whole story just came to me. I literally wrote the whole book as it is in 30 minutes, but it took a little over a year to design all the characters, lay out all the pages, and draw all the pictures. I did everything myself including the covers, and by God’s favor, Christian Faith Publishing accepted it immediately. 

About halfway through the process, stories kept coming to me, and I kept writing them down. I now have 12 stories! I noticed that more than a few of them were pointing towards God and I realized that this was my chance to spread the Word and glorify His name. Not by preaching, because the Lord knows I’m not a preacher…but through all the creatures of the reef, with wonderful pictures, and in a roundabout way, I can tell stories from the Bible to children AND their parents! Maybe they won’t even notice they’re actually learning about God and the stories of the Bible, but I hope they will notice and enjoy each one.

I’m sorry I can’t tell you more of what they’re about. Book two is called Benny and Janette and it will be at the publisher soon. Books three through twelve aren’t done yet so I can’t give away the details just yet. I can say however, that they are all wonderful stories given to me out thin air by the Lord, and that no family who purchases them will ever have to worry about any type of woke ideology or any other type of crazy thing that is going on in the world today. They are good, wholesome, fun, and I thank the Lord for giving them to me to put down on paper.
